At Northern Linen, we proudly carry forward the timeless heritage of flax spinning that goes back centuries. Our story traces back to the distinguished linen mill Severlyon, which was established in 1851. Throughout its history, this mill laid the foundation for what would become Northern Linen.
At the turn of the millennium, Northern Linen emerged as an independent Dutch linen trading company, staying committed to the quality and craftsmanship.
Today, we remain steadfast in our devotion to the traditional and historic linen fabric that has shaped our journey. This devotion is embedded in our company’s ethos, exemplified by our director and founder who has owned several linen mills in the past and nowadays frequently visits the flax fields to collaborate with local farmers, hand selecting the finest flax fibers.
The sustainable nature of flax linen, and the fact that it has proven itself to be a strong, durable textile for centuries has made our company and our customers very loyal to the product and become one of the market leaders in the supply of linen fabrics.

The Northen Linen headquarter in the Netherlands employs an experienced and dedicated team of around 25 professionals. Purchase offices are strategically positioned in Russia and China and our sales offices reside in the Netherlands, China, and Bangladesh.
Along with an extensive network of agents, we present our own collection according to the latest trends but are also very capable of developing specific customer requests.

Our logistics department is specialized in sea freight as well as road transport. We handle import and export goods and documents ourselves and are able to follow the whole chain of steps from our warehouses to the customer’s doorstep.
Another unique selling point is our sample warehouse from where we can send sample meters all over the world within a few days. With this service our customers can test, see and feel the fabrics before ordering the exact same bulk

The customers are served by our sales staff, together with sales agents from different countries that work for and with us on long-term bases. They know our collections, way of working and are part of our devoted team. We are in contact on a daily bases and they visit our headquarters often for training and information purposes.
